Tony Senanayake is Senior Manager at IDinsight, primarily supporting the Delhi office in India. He is also a co-chair of the organization’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Working Group. Tony leads partner engagement with IDinsight with a particular passion for education and effective altruism aligned priority areas. He specializes in the use of data and evidence to empower local leaders to maximize impact in their communities. He has a range of experience working with various stakeholders including BRAC, Rockefeller Foundation, Government of India, LGT Venture Philanthropies, and various State Governments in India. Prior to joining IDinsight, Tony worked on a number of data-driven projects around the world. These included the design of evaluations looking at the impact of rural electrification in Sierra Leone (with IGC and Yale University), design of monitoring and evaluation systems for a non-profit incubator in India, evaluation of ed-tech platforms in Zambia, and the design of a youth homeless shelter in New Haven. Tony worked as a Manager at Deloitte in Australia and the United States and graduated from Yale School of Management with an MBA where he was listed as one of Poets and Quants Top 100 Best and Brightest 2020 MBA Graduates. He also holds Masters of Law from the University of Sydney and Bachelors of Finance and Law from the University of Queensland.
