Ronald Abraham (India)

Ronald Abraham is a Co-Founder of IDinsight and is currently based in Hong Kong and Delhi. He leads and advises our governance portfolio in India. This includes IDinsight’s learning partnerships with Mission Karmayogi, the Aspirational Districts Programme, NITI Aayog’s National Data & Analytics Platform, and the Delhi Outcomes Budget Unit. In all his projects, Ronald works to improve the responsiveness and effectiveness of India’s public institutions.

Ronald led IDinsight’s India office for its first nine years till early 2021. Under his leadership, IDinsight India grew from scratch to 70+ teammates. Over these years, Ronald has been instrumental in creating a values-based and impact-driven culture at IDinsight India, setting and executing the organization’s strategy, recruiting and mentoring employees, developing and delivering impactful projects, and balancing the budget.

Under his leadership, IDinsight India embarked on over 90 projects with a diverse range of clients in 15 Indian states. IDinsight’s footprint in India is spread across multiple sectors including agriculture, education, governance, health, nutrition, and social protection. Ronald himself led a number of projects at IDinsight including the State of Aadhaar initiative and learning partnerships with the Governments of Bihar and Andhra Pradesh. He also led projects supporting education foundations and non-profits in India, including Akanksha, Going to School, Pratham, and STiR.

Previously, Ronald worked with Pratham on the Annual Status of Education Report (2006 and 2007) and as their lead for a statewide learning program with the Government of Punjab.

Ronald holds a BA (Honours) in Economics from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University, and an MPA in International Development (MPA/ID) from Harvard Kennedy School (HKS). Ronald received the Joint Japan / World Bank Graduate Scholarship to attend HKS.
