Prior to joining IDinsight, Mary was a Fulbright grantee to Senegal, where she studied colonialism and tourism on Goree Island. Mary has interned at the Institute of Politics at the University of Chicago and completed the Shriver Fellowship for Leadership in Public Service through the Sargent Shriver Peace Institute. She also completed the Data and Policy Summer Scholar Program at the Harris School of Public Policy. Mary holds a BA in Political Science and Comparative Race & Ethnic Studies from the University of Chicago. She speaks English, French, and some Wolof.
