Garvita Chawla is Director – Finance, Planning and Analysis at IDinsight, based in New Delhi, India.

Garvita oversees IDinsight’s organization-wide budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for senior leadership, donors, and the Board of Directors. In addition, she is also responsible for the financial support of the organization’s client-facing and functional teams, including project budgeting and planning for sustainable regional programs.

With 14 years of experience spanning across the development sector, capital markets and banking, Garvita has led multiple verticals of Finance, Legal & Compliance, Monitoring & Evaluation, besides providing strategic support to programs, fundraising and partnerships. In addition, she has guided the development and organisation-wide implementation of Standard Operating Procedures for critical functions like Procurement, Finance & Accounts, Fixed Assets and Human Resources while driving operational efficiencies for wider acceptance.

Prior to joining IDinsight, Garvita was Head of Finance at Safe Water Network in India, where she led the finance function and managed financial planning, business forecasting, compliance for multi-million, multi-year grants and led a seven-member team across entities. In addition, she represented her organisation at global platforms, including Stockholm World Water Week, University of North Carolina Water & Health Conference, Dutch Visitors’ Programme, among others sharing financial insights for the WASH sector.

Garvita is a national level rank holder Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and a Level 3 candidate for CFA Institute, USA. She holds a Bachelors’ degree in Commerce from Delhi University. As an investment advisor, she was called upon by National channels seeking views on capital market outlook and macro-economics.
